Re: Screen Demon Year 2000 Compatibility

A number of Screen Demon users have asked if there are any year 2000 (Y2K) issues associated with the Threshold product Screen Demon for AOS/VS. While we understand that Y2K compatibility is an important matter for our customers, we must take the following position concerning Screen Demon for AOS/VS.

At this time, we provide only limited support of this product. We have released a patch with removes all registration checks from the software. For those customers who have not installed this patch, we continue to provide re-registration when required. We have and will continue to provide answers regarding the installation, configuration, and use of the current version of Screen Demon. We are no longer accepting orders for Screen Demon Software Subscription Service (SSS) as we have no plans for any updates or future releases of the product.

For us to make any meaningful representations regarding Screen Demon’s Y2K compatibility would require thorough testing in all anticipated customer environments. Given the status of the product, we cannot justify such an undertaking.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause Screen Demon users but we feel that it would be irresponsible for us to provide any information not based on thorough research.
